COMPUTER/ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN PLUS PROGRAM
12 Months
1200 Clock Hours
88.0 Credit Units
The Computer / Electronics Technician Plus Program was developed to meet the growing need for trained personnel to fill entry-level positions in the computer industry and electronics fields. The program also prepares students for the A+ Certification examination. It is an intensive 15 month training program comprised of approximately 50% theory and 50% hands-on laboratory work.
The A+ Certification preparation quarter can also be taken as a stand-alone 3 month course for those who have already completed HoHoKus Rets's Computer/Electronic Technician or Electronic Engineering Technology programs, or who can demonstrate equivalent training from another institution.
The first four quarters of this course covers fundamental electronics, digital and analog circuitry, microprocessors, personal computers and networks. The final quarter is theory and lab based, in preparation for the CompTIA A+ Certification Exam. Using lecture, hands-on labs, and sample test questions as a basis, the course will prepare the student to feel confident in taking this examination. A review of hardware and microprocessors, power supplies, RAM, disk drives, printers, and the Windows environment will be included.
